Hi I'm Tom Payne

I love my God. I love my wife. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Sandy Utah to a mixed household. I have six other siblings and we all come from different fathers and share the same mother. My oldest sister and bother come from one father, my second oldest brother is from another father, me and my sisters (twins) belong to another father, and my youngest sister is yet from her father that we call dad. My mother passed away when I was 12 years old and I was raised by my step father and a step mother. Faith is a driving force in my life. I have come to believe and understand the gospel more fully through the faith that was taught to me by my dad. I served a full time mission in the Ventura, California mission. I attended Snow College and played football there. I also met the love of my life and we were sealed in the Mount Timpanogas Temple. I have three children. Tylee is the oldest, Jaxon is in the middle, and Easton is the youngest. Adversity has made me strong. Easton was born with some physical conditions that we have to deal with for the rest of his life. Jaxon, passed away in August of 2010. Pain and grief have been hard to bear, but the atonement is real and peace can be found through Jesus Christ. Although I am not with my son here on this earth, my faith gives me hope that I will be with him again.

Why I am a Mormon

Honestly I'm a Mormon because I was raised in the church. I like to believe that I was truly converted later on. I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that he is the reason for this life. I believe that he has given me purpose to live and to be a better person. I'm a Mormon because, I believe that Jesus loved me enough to provide a way for me to return to live in the presence of our Father in Heaven. He gave us prophets to follow and scriptures to guide us through this mortal experience. I'm a Mormon because, I believe!

How I live my faith

I am active in my faith. I currently serve as the Young men's president in my ward. I instruct the boys ages 12-18. I try to help them understand their responsibility in society. I give them as much guidance as they will receive. My hope is that they will each play a role in the community to increase love, tolerance and understanding. I live my faith through my actions. I try to be as giving as possible. I listen to those around me. I feel that I am friendly and like to make friends with whom ever I come in contact with. I provide service to people around me as often as I can. I live my faith the only way I know how. I try hard every day to be better than I was the day before. It does not always turn out that way, but I will keep striving to be better.
