Hi I'm Dana

I am a wife, mother and grandmother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, went to BYU, married and moved to New Jersey. Now we live in Arizona. I have a husband, four children, a son-in-law and two beautiful grandchildren that live nearby. I enjoy gardening (when it is not hot!), reading, going to the movies, traveling and learning about new, interesting topics.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a very Mormon town and a very Mormon family. Even as a child, I remember feeling strongly that the gospel that I was taught was true, that I was a daughter of a Heavenly Father that loved me and Jesus Christ is my Savior. That gave me a foundation that helped me throughout my life. I have felt many times the Holy Ghost telling me that what I was reading or hearing was true, and it continues to this day. After I was married, it was good for me to move to a location that had few Mormons and no extended family around for a while so I could get to know different kinds of people and see different ways of living. I recognized anew how much I love and appreciate being a Mormon. It is a good and happy way of life that has brought me great fulfillment.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Cub Scout pack that is affiliated with my ward. I am also a District Newsletter Editor for the local Boy Scouts of America. I have served in many different assignments in my church, and whether I have been responsible for the youth organization, or the women's organization, a pianist or just a teacher for a class, I have really grown personally. As I have prayed about how to help someone or accomplish a task, I have felt the Lord guiding me and giving me strength to complete what was needed. I desire to be an instrument in His hand that He can use as He wants, to bless others' lives, as they have blessed mine. I love reading the scriptures and am continually amazed at the personal guidance I find by doing so. I also love attending the temple and feeling the peace and strength that is there.
