Hi I'm Kerry

I live in Lake Stevens Washington, design high level electronic security systems for schools and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. On my 5th birthday my parents divorced and my mother with her 8 children moved in with her parents. My grandfather became my father, I loved him and learned everything from him. We never had any money, we didn't enjoy the things my friends enjoyed. We couldn't afford bikes, so when our friends rode their bikes back into the woods for a day of fun, we ran. I remember wishing I could have a new pair of white Converse tennis shoes, but they cost $10.00. In the summer months we worked on my grandfathers berry farm to earn a little spending money. When I was 17 he died and my world crashed down all around me. Today, I design security solutions for educational facilities for a living and the most important thing in my life is my family, My wife, 5-children and soon to be 9-grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

When my Grandfather passed away I was completely lost as to the purpose of life and why I was left here without a father and now without my beloved grandfather. I spent countless late nights walking the rural country roads gazing at the stars and asking God why. Why did this happen to me? What did I do to deserve this heartache? Why am I here? Is there some purpose to my life? My family atended an Evangelical Christian Church which is where I learned of Jesus Christ. But still, these answers weren't addressed. I had hope in Christ, but no answers to these perplexing questions. A few weeks after my gradfather's death a friend from school invited me to participate in a Family Home Evening. In this lesson I learned of the importance of the family, of the intention that the family be eternal and that our loving Heavenly Father prepared the way for families to be forever. I also learned other things about God and Christ that rang true to me, things I knew were right as soon as I was exposed to them. That God is our Father and has a very specific plan for us. That Jesus Christ is His Son who came to earth to establish his Church and suffer for our sins so that we could be clean and return to live with Him. That we were created to have joy both here on earth and through all eternitiy, and that we find that joy as we keep His commandments and serve others. I love knowing these truths and I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I follow Christ by trying to be aware of others needs and I try to serve and bless my fellow man. My wife and I teach young adults in our area and try to help them recognize the great blessings that await them as they are faithful in following Christ. My wife and I pray together, serve together and serve one-an-other, and attend church together. Nearly every Sunday, besides being the Sabbath in our home, is a special day to enjoy our family.
