Hi I'm Ashley

I am a college student, a nanny, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 21 year old college student that lives at home. One day I would like to be a Speech Pathologist in elementary schools. To pay for my schooling I work as a nanny, this is my second year and second family and I love my job! In my spare time I love to watch old black and white movies as well as those from the 50’s and 60’s. My friends and family like to tease me and call me a Grandma because I also enjoy sewing, needle point embroidery, and crocheting.

Why I am a Mormon

Every Latter-day Saint whether born into the church or not has a conversion story of when they first gained a testimony for themselves. Although I was born and raised in the church I didn’t begin to gain a real firm testimony until about the time I was in Junior High. There is a song we learn as children that is called I’m a Child of God, and this is from what my knowledge is based. I know that I am a beloved daughter of a loving Heavenly Father and I know that he loves me and knows me personally. I know that he sent his son our older brother Jesus Christ to atone for my sins and afflictions. I know that he died for me and all of Gods children and that he lives. This relationship with my Father and Elder brother is why I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I attend a Young Single Adult Branch in my area. I attend Family Home Evening on Monday nights, Institute on Wednesday nights and church on Sundays. I have taught a primary class for 3-4 year old children, a class of 12-18 year old Young Women, and a class for 18 and up adults. I go to most of the other activities we hold on weekends and other days of the week. It's important to me to spend a lot of time with other members for the reason that I think it's important to keep company that holds that same standards as I do. Although I do have friends outside of the church they too are aware of my standards.
