Hi I'm Ryan

I’m a husband, a father, a game developer, a black belt, and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ryan Jones. I have a wonderful family with a loving wife, two unique sons, and a beautiful daughter. I have been developing and programming games since 2000, and have shipped more than a dozen titles. Most projects I worked on were either sports products (3DO and EA Sports) or children’s games (like Kinect Adventures and EA Playground). I’m currently working within Microsoft Game Studios as a manager of software engineers. The best part is that I get to call playing games, research. I’m not big into spending time in nature, thanks to my allergies, but I have a strong commitment toward recycling. I try to recycle anything I can, especially my used electronics. Most people don’t know that I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe Heavenly Father has a plan for all his children to help us understand how to return to him after this life. I believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, and in his atoning sacrifice. I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible contain the word of God. It is through the application of these teachings in my life that I have solidified my faith. I grew up in the church, but it wasn’t until I was in high school that I really came to know for myself that the teachings were true. I took the time to study the scriptures, along with writings from modern prophets and apostles. I prayed for support in helping me to better understand the gospel. I learned to recognize God’s hand where many overlook it.

How I live my faith

I pray daily with my family, alone with my wife, and by myself. I listen to the scriptures as often as I can when I’m driving to and from work. I try to serve others when I can. I always take the time to thank my Heavenly Father when something good happens or when I am inspired to do something. It isn’t that difficult to realize where those blessings originate.
