Hi I'm Rachel

I am a college graduate. I am a soon to be mother of 3. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college with my husband. We had the time of our lives going to school. I consider it the greatest time FOR my life not OF my life. I have become a mother and am having the time of my life in a different way now. I still love to do sports (even while pregnant!), meet new people, play games, and laugh, but I equally love to comfort my scared child in the middle of the night, or dance around with them to music. I try my best to learn new things every day and to help better someone or something, even if it's just myself. I love to paint, or sketch anything. I love to create beautiful things. I enjoy knowing how to do a little bit of everything. I would love to learn how to fix or build a car and become an expert at sewing. (Those two don't really go together!) I love being active and in shape enough so that if I wanted to climb a mountain one day or run a marathon the next, I could do it without too much effort. I love to sing everything! Even if its just me singing to my kids while I give them a bath or in front of a congregation at church, the shower is where I really shine though!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon my whole life, but you aren't necessarily born with a testimony. For some there is a moment of conversion. Some event that changes them. For me, my conversion came little by little. It started off with simple faith. I honestly wanted truth and I was willing to experiment and test the lord even at a young age. I learned simply by doing. I wanted to know the scriptures were true so I kept reading them every day. I learned little by little that they were true because I felt feelings deep within me that gave me reassurance, peace, and a hunger to learn more truth. I wanted to know if the gospel was true so I did what was asked of me by keeping the commandments and little by little, those feelings of reassurance, peace, and more hunger for truth came back to me every time. With every question I had, the same feelings came back. I know through my own experience that this church is true! I am not a blind follower. I follow the Lord's gospel because I know that it is the only true church. I know the Lord knows me so personally. I know he wants me to learn of Him so that I can be like him. Being like Him and doing what He would do is the only way back to God. I know that I can't sit back and wait for answers and a testimony to come to me. I must seek our Savior Jesus Christ because he tells us that if we seek we shall find and if we knock, it shall be opened to us. Jesus Christ lived and died for me and lives again! He stands ready and willing to help each of us. I draw closer to Him and He draws closer to me as I live my faith.

How I live my faith

I try to take every opportunity to help where help is needed. I feel happier and closer to my Father in Heaven when I do good things for people. There are times when I have helped people where I literally feel like the Lord just gave me a high-five and said, "That's my girl!" I have the opportunity each Sunday to teach young children in church. What is more precious than having the honor to teach such pure and innocent children about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their love for each of them? I love it! Every month I go visit with some lady members of our church and we get to talk about our Savior and how we can come closer to him. This is a special time for us to draw closer to each other and to the Lord. There are so many things going on in people's day to day lives so taking time to feel closer to the Lord and help others do the same is essential. If I can help someone and through my example, they help someone, than it is all worth it!
