Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a daughter, a sister, a mother and a wife. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a home with a dysfunctional and abusive step father, a hurt mother and two younger sisters. Not long after my mother was able to remove us from that environment, the missionaries knocked on our door. We all joined the church. How grateful I am for those missionaries and the limitless blessings that have come from that act. I am now not only a wife, but an eternal companion. I am a mother to two boys who have also become members and a young daughter. I have been blessed so richly it almost seems undeserving. I am a daughter of God who's aiming high, who'll never make it on her own, but knows who to ask for help.

Why I am a Mormon

Initially I joined the church because I thought the missionaries were cute, but that's not why I'm a Mormon today. Today, it's even more simple. I am a Mormon because it feels right for me. Sure there have been times when I haven't been entirely comfortable with a part of the doctrine or a principle. In fact, for a long time I wondered about a particular concept. I even tried to articulate exactly what my concern was to my husband’s family, but they failed to help me make sense of it. I didn't let that one thing consume me though. There were too many other great and wonderful things to let that overpower all the good. Almost two years after talking with them, I was preparing my lesson for the Young Women and the exact answer I had been looking for was right there. The passage and supporting scripture calmed all my fears. I finally knew and what a perfect answer to my question. From experiences like that I have learned that sometimes it's okay not to have all the answers right away. How wonderful it is to keep learning, keep discovering and keep developing.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by trying to be my best self, do the things that I know are right and by teaching my family to strive for the same.
