Hi I'm Tonya

I'm a mother of 4 awesome kids. I'm a wife. I'm a school and neighborhood activist. I love life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a single parent home after loosing my father at age 7. I was lucky enough to find the church at a very early age in which I continued to stay close too throughout my growing up years. I'm so grateful I had the church to help raise me as I grew to an adult. I graduated from high school and had a dream of attending BYU and that I did. I graduated with both a BS and a MA from BYU. I absolutely loved my college years. I had the opportunity of serving a mission in Bangkok, Thailand. I grew in ways I never dreamed I would. I have a great love for the gospel and for the Thai people. I returned home and married a wonderful guy named Ike. Together we have been married for over 20 years. We have 4 incredible kids. They are doing all the right things and that I am so thankful. I love being involved in my kids schools and in all their activities. My favorite thing to do is to watch them in all their sporting events. My husband and I are the owners of a local plumbing and air condition company. We live in an amazing area surrounded by amazing people. I love to participate in all sports especially basketball and cycling. I love photography, scrapbooking, playing on the computer, girl's camp, going to our cabin and especially love going on family vacations. My family and the gospel are by far the most important things to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I came from a non-LDS family so going to church and living the gospel was really all up to me. Since I did not have the gospel standards in my home I was drawn to those of the LDS church. I loved all that the gospel offered me from a very young age. So I tell people it was the church that raised me. I have always had a testimony of the gospel. I never questioned it. It was just right and it made sense to me. I saw so much unhappiness in my younger years and I know that had I not had the church in my life I would not be who I am today or have the amazing wonderful eternal family that I do. The gospel is everything that makes life so awesome. I cannot imagine life without it. It makes being a parent so much easier. Every aspect of the gospel helps me and my family progress closer and closer to one day returning to live with our Heavenly Father. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and there is nothing more dear to me besides my own family. I pray that I will live worthy to return to my Father in Heaven one day. Being a Mormon is the greatest blessing. I will be forever grateful that I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church each week. By fulfilling my various callings that I have been given. By teaching my children the importance of the gospel. By being an example to my family and the people I come in contact with on a daily basis. We may be the only book of mormon people are reading so I believe we need to be at our best at all times. I live my faith by serving others and helping in any way I can. Living my faith brings my family and me such happiness. Living my faith makes living in the world today a much easier task. I live my faith because I know its true and because it just makes sense to me.
