Hi I'm Matthew

I am a native Arizonan, a devoted husband, and loving father. I work as a corporate accountant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have 2 children and love to do things together. We especially enjoy traveling around the United States and other countries to visit family, see the beautiful scenery, and learn about history and different cultures. I love to read, hike, play the piano, and be involved in community theatre.

Why I am a Mormon

Through regular spiritual experiences, I strengthen my testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior, that He prepared a way for all of us to return to our Heavenly Father through His Atonement, and that He organized His church on the earth today. These experiences come from attending church meetings, praying, reading scriptures, and serving others.

How I live my faith

My family has a weekly family night meeting when we discuss our schedule for the week, have a gospel lesson, eat a treat, and do an activity together. These meetings help us focus on each other and increase our family bond. My responsibility at church is to send a weekly e-newsletter, coordinate volunteers for service activities, and report on monthly visits to families’ homes for the men’s organization. My service both at home and at home help show my gratitude to the Savior for all He has done for me. I also try to live my life in a way that others know that I believe in Christ and am striving to follow His teachings and be like Him.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Matthew
One of the greatest parts of the Lord's plan is that He has prepared a way for us to live together as families. Families are the basic unit for the Lord's Church and most everything we do is to help us keep that unit together for eternity. The Lord's Atonement has made it possible for all to be forgiven of their sins and to be cleansed so that we can live with Him forever. He has also restored His priesthood to the earth which has the sealing power necessary to bind families together eternally through marriage in one of His temples on the earth. What a blessing and comfort is this knowledge that as we strive to keep the commandments and keep our promises to the Lord, we will be able to be with loved ones who have passed on before us and stay together as families even in heaven.
