Hi I'm Matt

I am a sports enthusiast. I lived in Peru for two years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single college student looking to become a doctor. I absolutely love sports of all kinds. I played soccer all growing up and then played volleyball in high school. I am the youngest of five boys and am grateful for the example given by them. I am bilingual. I speak English and Spanish fluently. I served a mission for the church for two years in the great country of Peru. I have also visited Mexico and Guatemala. I love being outside in nature. I love camping and just relaxing in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of Mormons and have grown up loving my faith. I am super happy that my parents raised me the way that they did and hope to one day do the same with my children. I basically grew up "knowing" that the church as true and was sure that everything taught by my leaders and parents was correct. As I grew, I began to study and search things out in the scriptures for myself and have come to truly feel and know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ himself. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God called to restore Christ's church back to the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon, as well as the Bible, contain Gods direction for us here on earth. I also know that God has not ceased to give us instruction, as he has called a prophet to guide us in these latter days. I am grateful to know for myself that I am a child of God and that he loves me. He wants me to make my way back to his presence and I want to accomplish that. The only way that it is possible is thanks to the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that he died for me and that he loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live a Christlike life. I know that I am not perfect, but strive for improvement daily and repent when I commit sins. I go out once a month with another member of my ward to visit 3 other members of the ward to share a minor message, but mostly to see how they are doing. I love helping my friends and anyone in need through things as simple as a smile or as big as helping move houses. I served a mission for two years in Peru and grew to love the people of that fine nation. I have been to Guatemala to assist my older brother on a non-church related dental mission, but feel that anything service related truly is living "my faith." Christ taught us to give and to love and I try to do that daily.
