Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in Washington. I like gymnastics and snowboarding. I am majoring in public health. I recycle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have finished three years of college, and I am majoring in public health. I love to try new things, and the past few years I have tried ballet, gymnastics, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and many other new things. I realized that if I kept telling myself I wouldn't be good at these things, I would never try things that I've always wanted to do. So I just do them, and it turns out I'm better at them than I expected!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon, but as I've gotten older I have definitely realized for myself that this church is true. I have been blessed so much throughout my life by living the teachings of the Gospel. I love knowing that I can have a two-way communication with my Heavenly Father through prayer, and I have received answers to prayers many times. At times in my life when I have been scared, worried, stressed out or sad, I have relied on my relationship with God to get me through it. And when I am happy or excited, I try to recognize that the blessings that make me feel that way come from our loving Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and each time I read it, I notice details that I never noticed that help me draw closer to Christ and that pertain to my life. I know that Joseph Smith really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus after he prayed to know what church to join. Through proper authority, Joseph Smith restored the gospel that was present in Christ's time so we can live it today. I know that this is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to live the teachings of the church everywhere I go. I have had friends ask me why I wouldn't dress certain ways, or go to a certain party, or why I don't drink coffee. I love when people ask me these things, because it gives me a chance to teach them a little about my beliefs and how these teachings have blessed my life. I recently served an 18 month mission in Northern Virginia where I shared these teachings with many people and I had the privilege of watching their lives change as they applied what they learned.
