Hi I'm David

I am a chemical engineer. I am a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a chemical engineer for Boeing and help make wings for Boeing Aircraft. When I see these big birds fly I wonder where all the people are off too. I hope that some of them are off to visit exciting places or see family or friends. I am grateful to help share the gospel through helping build aircraft to carry our missionaries and church leaders throughout the world. I am a proud parent of four children. The oldest is 24 and youngest is 17. Our middle son is serving a mission on Las Vegas Nevada. He has shared with us the joy when people not of our faith learn about the gospel truths and feel the Holy Spirit guide them and conform the truth and witness of the divinity of our Savior Jesus Christ. What joy this brings. My wonderful wife has put up with me for now 29 years and I am so thankful for her and her love and encouragement. I enjoy the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. I love the ocean the sounds and smells. Recently we searched for agates on the beach on the Oregon Coast and my daughter in law taught us all how to find them. I find that finding these agates has a lot in common to finding the gospel and what is true. You need to look hard, look at different angles of light. Find others who have been there before to give pointers and dig in and exercise faith. God will not leave those who seek without a helping hand.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because God has testified to me through the sure confirmation of his Holy Spirit that it is true. I feel of Its goodness in my life. I recall a Prophet Alma's writing in the Book of Mormon about how to find out the truth. He uses the words of experimenting with the word or in other words try living it and see what blessings come and if it is good it will burn within you and bring joy to your live. I continue to receive these feelings as I strive to be better and apply the truths into my life. In brief I continue to be a member because it brings peace, love and happiness to me. I also see how the blessings have come upon my children through their youth, young adulthood and now as they become adults. The gospel has helped me to know how to be a good father, has helped me to know how to talk with my children about their important decisions in life. It has helped and taught me how to love them not only as my children but as God sees them as his children with trailing pieces of glory from our pre-mortal life with him. I know that it is true. Thank you Father in Heaven for letting me know.

How I live my faith

I serve in the bishopric of my ward. In this calling I have the opportunity to help our teenage young men and young women gain testimonies of the Lord's gospel. I also am a unit commissioner for our scout troop and serve in various ways to help our young men live the principles of faith found on the Boy Scouts of America and help them on their path to Eagle Scout. I encouraged our young women earn their "Personal Progress" Medallion which has elements that help our young women develop faith, live the gospel values which help them throughout their life. I am so thankful that the Lord has asked me to be with the youth of our congregation. Sometimes especially after a hike or some other challenging or demanding physical activity I wonder if maybe I am a bit to old for this. But seeing our youth succeed in their challenges gives me a feeling of love that fills my live with joy. (PS I am still really sore for days after these things) I am involved in community service by helping our city become a better place to live through the Beautify Bonney Lake annual community service event.
