Hi I'm Miriam

I'm the youngest of six kids, I'm a college student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In September 2013, I'll begin my college education at Brigham Young Univeristy. I like to decorate cupcakes with my mom to make them look like things they aren't. I love reading, especially Harry Potter and Nancy Drew. (I have pretty much the best Hermione costume you've never seen, thanks to my amazing mother and her sewing machine!) I'm pretty bad at video games, but I play them anyway. I have fourteen adorable nieces and nephews with another one coming in January 2014! I'm slightly allergic to kiwi fruits and they make my mouth feel tingly and weird, but I eat them anyway. I was on the dance team for my middle school when I was in eighth grade. I took clogging lessons for a few years and piano lessons for eight. I'm learning American Sign Language, and I love it. My favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a very Mormon family, so I was raised in the church. Ever since I can remember, I've known that this is the true church. My testimony didn't come all at once with a huge "Aha!" moment or anything like that; I've been developing my testimony for my whole life and I continue to do so today. I've seen many miracles and heard of even more. I know as well as I know that I'm typing right now that the church is true and I love it. This is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father wants us to come live with Him again someday, and we need to do everything we can to keep His commandments and be faithful.

How I live my faith

My current calling is that of an assistant leader of the Activity Days girls, who are anywhere from eight to twelve years old. We meet together to do fun (and educational, of course!) activities a few times a month. It's a lot of fun for me, and they seem to enjoy it, too! I love those girls, even if they can't always remember my name. :)
