Hi I'm Keven

I grew up in New Orleans. I am a convert to the church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love hiking, especially in the North Cascades. I enjoy working in my yard and like experimenting with flowers. I like playing and watching football, which comes mostly from growing up in Louisiana. I'm not much of a fisherman but I love to eat seafood and fresh water fish. I am a veterinarian and my job is to help make sure that the drugs or medical products that we take do not cause unforeseen problems of any kind.

Why I am a Mormon

I love hiking mainly because of the Spirit I can feel in the outdoors. That Spirit has led me to pray and find truth in the world of men. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to have family home evening each week. I also try to have scripture study on my own and with my family each day, but it doesn't always work out. I try to think about other people and their needs and to be helpful to them. . My faith is summed up in the following three scriptures: 1 Timothy 1: 3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. John 8: 31-32: Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. The gospel is liberating in that it fills us with truth and frees us from falsehoods. God's will is that no one should perish but that all should repent, come to the knowledge of the truth, and be saved. But each man in his own time, according to his disposition to seek that which is right. For some people, this process will continue after this life. For those with a narrow view of the gospel, salvation can only be accomplished in this life. The will of God (that all men come to a knowledge of the truth and be saved), as expressed in the scriptures above, would then be frustrated. But for those who hold the proper authority (as Peter did), salvation can occur beyond this life. This authority has been restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith and continues in the Church today. A large portion of the work necessary to bring about the salvation of mankind occurs in the temples. Assisting with this work in the temple is a major part of how I live my faith.
