Hi I'm Vanessa

I'm a wife and a mother to four sweet children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother to four young children and married to my best friend. I love reading and learning new things that will enrich my life and the lives of those around me. I love to run and recently ran my first marathon. I love being outdoors. I love to be with my family whether we are playing in the park, going for a walk, playing a game or making a huge art mess in the kitchen.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ my entire life. My parents were and still are great examples to me of living a life of service in the church. When I was about nine or ten years old, I remember feeling the need to pray to Heavenly Father to know if the Book of Mormon was true because I had been taught to do so. I expected to have a powerful feeling come over me, when that didn't happen I was disappointed and confused. I prayed several times over the course of a few years until I realized that I didn't need a powerful feeling from God to tell me what I already knew to be true in my heart. I am so thankful for my testimony and the knowledge that my Savior lives and loves me and that I can be with my family forever if I am striving to keep God's commandments and the covenants that I have made in His temple.

How I live my faith

I attend church each week with my family and make myself available to help the various leaders in our ward. I have held several callings in the church such as, ward missionary, nursery teacher, a counselor in the Relief Society (Women's Organization), and activities coordinator in the Relief Society. I am a visiting teacher, which means I go visit a few sisters in the ward with a companion. While we visit we share a gospel message and help with whatever needs she may have. I love serving in the church and feeling the peace that comes when I am serving and attending my meetings. I also read my scriptures each day and hold morning devotional with my children. I feel it is important to do these activities daily in order to strengthen my testimony and to help instill our values in the hearts of my children.
