Hi I'm Kevin

I love living in the Midwest. I've served in the Army Reserve for twenty-five years and just returned from Iraq. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew-up in a small town in eastern Iowa on the shore of the Mississippi river. As a junior in high school, I joined the Army Reserve for the adventure and the college money. I attended college, went active duty a while, and travelled around the United States, before coming back to the Midwest to raise my family. I have a wonderful wife and two great sons. I like a good book, a good game, and a good joke. I have a happy life.

Why I am a Mormon

I thought a lot about religion before accepting Christ in my life. I’ve been saved by Christ’s grace, but nearly as important, I’ve been changed by Christ’s grace. I know that my life since I joined Christ’s Church is much happier, than my life before joining the Church. My family, my wife and sons, bring me joy. The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints has the complete gospel truth, which is needed for our eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do what Heavenly Father desires of me. Part of that is serving others, even in small ways. Our Father expects us to meet the needs of others. We are often the means by which God blesses others, but only if we move out of our comfort zone and extend ourselves. I also try to be a positive, active example for others. While in Iraq, it was easy to become frustrated and negative, but a positive attitude is contagious and a smile can make the moment a little easier. We are here to help each other through this thing, whatever it is.
