Hi I'm Heather.

I've sent the majority of my life living in the pacific northwest. I'm a proud mom and a Mormon.

About Me

I was married in beautiful San Diego to my husband when I was just 20. We both attended college at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho. Through him I learned to snow board and we spent our winters on the mountain whenever possible. There is nothing greater than being in fresh powder, sitting on top of a mountain! After more than three years of marriage we were finally blessed with a baby girl. She was born 11 weeks early and in another state than what we were living. She was going to be staying in the NICU for quit a time, so we decided to move to Washington state to keep our family together. While making to trip back to Idaho, my husband was in a car accident and passed away. Our daughter has since been released from the hospital after a near 11 week stay. Between her and her medical needs and our basset hound, Hank, I stay busy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Mormon church. It was never easy for me to have different values than my friends. I fell away from the church during high school. I thought it was easier to do what my friends were and in some way i thought that I was having fun. It wasn't long that I realized that I was complicating my life with all the extras. I began to search for what was right for me. After searching I found that what I was looking for was there for me the whole time. It is when I am following the teachings of the gospel that I'm the happiest. I know that Jesus is the savior. He died so that we might live with the father again. I know that through the power of repentance I can be cleansed for all my many sins. I believe that families can be together forever and for that I cant be more thankful. I feel the savior near and know that he loves each and everyone of us. I have received too many blessings in my life to doubt the existence of God. He lives and has given us so many gifts, one is a map back to his presence, the scriptures. i believe that the scriptures are true and that they are full of wisdom to help us learn and prefect ourselves. I believe that the scriptures are living scriptures, in that one verse could pertain to many situations.

How I live my faith

I strive to live for a purpose. If I look back on my life and cant say that I did more with my life than my day to day tasks, I have failed. To give my life meaning, I have become active in the relay for life, highway pickups, political campaigns and supporting local animal shelters. More than organized activities, it is so important to help your neighbors. I really think that the golden rule is important to adhere to. I do what I can to help lighten the burden of others the same as I would hope others would do for me.
