Hi I'm Becky

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a special education teacher and have taught 3-5 year olds in preschool and kindergarten for nearly 30 years. My hobbies are yoga and walking, hiking and camping with my family. Right now I am trying to polish my piano playing. I also try to keep ahead of my active five year olds during the school year and l spend my summers enjoying my hobbies and spending time with my 5 brothers and sisters and their children and grandchildren. I love being Aunt Becky! When we go camping together, I am the head of the "Junior Hiking League". I also study nutrition and behavior as it relates to weight loss and have lost over 100 pounds in my attempt to stay healthy and active. I still have more to learn and a few more pounds to lose!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ and it's teachings reflect the kind of life I want to live. I was baptized at the age of eight and have studied the scriptures and the gospel throughout my life. I have had many experiences that have testified to me of the truthfulness of the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and knows not only who I am but also what I am going through and what kind of support I need from Him each day. I know that after all he has given me, I can only repay Him for his loving care by caring for others as the Savior Jesus Christ did. I find the greatest joy I have ever known in helping others and am energized by the power of the Holy Ghost as it is magnified throughout my life.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have many opportunities to serve in my community. At school I try my best to demonstrate the Christlike attributes I study in the scriptures. Patience, faith, brotherly kindness and charity all are needed daily as a kindergarten teacher! As part of my church responsibilities I serve as an ordinance worker in the temple once a week. In the temple I have an opportunity to help others worship and come closer to the Savior. I also teach an adult scripture study class during our Sunday School time and enjoy learning from others as we study together. Several years ago I took a leave of absence for one year of my teaching career and served as a full time missionary for the church in Southern Ohio and Kentucky.
