Hi I'm John

I grew up in Utah but have not resided there for almost 40 years. I'm a husband, father, and grandfather. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, father, and grandfather. I'm an graduate engineer that has practiced in New York and Colorado. I like to play basketball, garden, and archive family photos. I enjoy studying economics and markets. I am interested in the relationship of nutrition, fitness, and health. I am a Vietnam Era veteran. I have continuing interest in preparedness and patriotism. I like involvement in charitable service both at Church and in the community. I realize that my casual interests have broadened, while my professional interests have become more specialized. I enjoy my family associations, and continue to be involved in archiving and photography. As I approach my senior years, I am concerned about the legacy that will remain, both personal and societal. I have studied characters of the past, including Jesus, and try to build my character upon traits that are praiseworthy. And I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a deep respect for the Mormon people, many of whom have overcome adversity. My heritage in the LDS church spans multiple generations, and includes pioneers. Regardless of this tradition, there was a time when I came to know that the precepts taught by the LDS church were the basis of an honorable and happy life. I realized that Jesus suffered for me, my frailties, and my trivialities that result in offenses. The Word of Wisdom is something all people should consider as a minimum health code.

How I live my faith

I have served many years in Boy Scouts. I presently serve the local church as a clerk, and volunteer often in helping others in home projects. I particularly like to help those who have a project that is simply too big for one person to accomplish quickly. I have served in the sports activities, and keep myself fit for aerobic activities. I serve in ad hoc capacities whenever called upon by leaders, such as organizing social events. I visit members regularly, and give guidance when asked. I participate occasionally in community service such as building trails, cleaning streams, etc. I have been involved in Neighborhood Watch, and believe that me and my neighbors are responsible for the safety of the community.
