Hi I'm Talon

I live in Colorado. I am a teenager. I never have enough time. I'm a swimmer. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission until January 2015. I have been called to serve in Lima, Peru, but I'm serving in Lynchburg, VA, waiting for a visa. I am a teenager determined to rewrite common perception. I am an older brother to two brothers and two sisters. I am a sleep deprived perfectionist who has bitten of just barely enough to chew (hopefully). I am a son of my Father in Heaven. I fit in--uniquely. I am philisophical. When I get back from my mission, I will be a sophomore at BYU, and still just beginning to figure out my life. I am interested in so many different things, and want to learn more about all of them. Some of the things I have spent most of my time doing before my mission were school, swimming, youth groups, and friends. I am an entreprenuer, earning most all of my money doing on-my-own projects, a lot of which involve electronics. I love nature. I love to go camping every chance I get, and fool around in mountain streams or enormous sand dunes. I love poetry, and write it all the time. I love life, and I love learning, and I love to improve, so I try to do so at all times. I want to be my best, and I want to share my beliefs, values and opinions with those I care about, and whoever else will listen!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, however this in no way means I have been "brainwashed" into believeing. I love spending my entire Sunday involved with church! I can't get enough of it. I also like learning about other people's beliefs, and so I attend other churches when I can find a friend willing to invite me, and I love going to other church's youth groups and bible studies. I am a person educated in religion, and I have decided for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I love this church, and I am so happy to be sharing it with everyone I meet over these two wonderful years. If you want the most simple answer to why I'm a Mormon, it is because no matter what your beliefs are, the way members of the LDS church live is the best way to life my life, and I wouldn't leave it even if I didn't know it was true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by self controll and restraint. I love the guidelines, instruction, and commandments my God has given me. I am a better person because I choose to obey them. I live my life in a polluted world; however I don't let that pollute my life. I do my best to make each wonderful child of God feel like they are special and one of a kind, especially His daughters. Since January 2013 I have been serving my Savior full time as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I enjoy it more than any other time of my life. Each moment teaches me something new about God's wonderful plan for us. I may not be able to serve a full time mission forever, but I have dedicated my life to God forever. My mission my come to a close, but his work will never end. I am a part of that work, and I have a divine responsibility to share the blessing of His gospel with the world.
