Hi I'm Annette

I'm a mother a grandmother a teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a large family and on a farm so I was taught at an early age to work hard. My parents were great examples of work and sacrifice. I decided early in my life that I wanted to go to college and get an education. I didn't really care if I ever used it outside of the home, but getting it was important to me. I loved school and learning. My parents recognized that fact and helped me pursue my dream. Before I married, they made sure my husband realized my dream as well. I soon fulfilled another dream of mine and that was to become a mother. I loved being in a big family and having children of my own was a dream come true. I soon learned to love becoming involved in the things they enjoyed. Working in scouting and attending all of the recitals, concerts and sporting events my children and husband participated in has filled my time and my life with joy. Serving where they are has always been important to me. After my children were grown, my life changed once again as I used that degree I earned long ago and began working as a reading interventionist at a local elementary school. Now I am a retired teacher and a full time grandmother and my life once again is filled with children.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and I've learned that this is His gospel restored to the earth again. I know that Christ is my Savior. He has atoned for my sins and more importantly, I know that he has experienced every hard, sad, discouraging thing I could ever experience. Because of this, He can strengthen me during my trials. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet that restored Christ's church to the earth. During my studies, I have felt the Holy Ghost witness to me that he is a prophet of God. I have read the Book of Mormon and have felt that same witness as I have pondered its pages. I love my children and husband dearly and appreciate the fact that there is an opportunity for me to be with them eternally. I know I am a child of God and that he knows me individaully. He cares about me and loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying each day to be happy and helpful and a follower of Christ. I have served mainly with children, youth and their leaders, doing lots of scouting and other work with children. I have tried to help in my community by being a block captain on my street for about 20 years. Getting to know my neighbors and helping them to get to know one another has been my goal during this time. Though not an easy task, it has been a blessing in my life.
