Hi I'm Jeneane

I'm a grandma & a widow. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, my family, and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 4 children and 16 grandchildren. My family is the most important thing in my life. I have a great love for music and play the piano & organ. After a 10-year battle my husband of 42 years died of cancer. Because I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all his children on the earth, I decided to serve a mission. I was called to serve in northern Italy for 18 months. I loved teaching and serving the Italian people and also many immigrants there from Africa, South America, the Philippines, and Eastern Europe. Although I was never able to finish college, I love learning and reading. I have a particular interest in science, medicine, and biographies of people who have made an important contribution to society. Creating things gives me great satisfaction so I like to do crafts and all kinds of needle work. I spent my working years in the field of business (word processing, banking, commercial mortgage, and medical transcription).

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a child I mostly attended one protestant church where I would argue with the pastor about God being the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. It was not logical to me and did not seem like the Bible supported that concept. I also couldn't picture a place without the organization of families and eternally doing nothing better than floating on a cloud playing a harp. It disturbed me that churches believed those who did not hear the message of Christ were condemned to hell. When I was 13 I heard the Mormon missionaries, and everything made since. I was so happy to know that I have a loving Father in Heaven and the my older brother, Jesus Christ, atoned for my sins so that through repentance I can live with them and my family in the eternities. I will be busy in the next life learning and helping to bring to pass God's great plan of happiness. Everyone in Heaven will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that God does nothing except he reveals it to his prophets. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today who testifies of the reality of Jesus Christ, teaches us that God would have us serve others, keep ourselves morally clean in thought, word, and deed, and abstain from relationships outside the bonds of marriage. I know that my life can be lived more fully by striving to live by the revealed word of God.

How I live my faith

Since my baptism as a teenager, my whole life has revolved around family and church. Because the LDS church stresses the importance of being a good citizen I have also participated in the election procress and in community projects such as repainting a building inside & out for a non-profit organization, putting up shelves in a library, making repairs on homes of the elderly, highway cleanup, etc. Through the years I have had the opportunity to grow in such assignments as teaching children in Sunday School and our Primary organization, teaching classes in parenting and culture (art, music, literature) to the women, being the leader of the girls 12-18, and serving many years playing piano and organ and leading music. I have also organized social and cultural events. I feel like wherever I have lived I have had instant friends and am a member of a big family. I have learned to love others as I have served them. I especially like the program where we watch over one another by visiting regularly the other women in the church and caring for the sick, the elderly, the overwhelmed mother, helping pack for someone moving, etc. In turn I have been richly blessed by others in my times of need. Prayer and scripture study are also an important part of my life. I have been blessed with good health by obeying the Lord's health rules and abstaining from alcohol, tea, and coffee and treating my body as a temple of God. Because I love My Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, I want to be the best I can be and a help to my brothers & sisters on this earth in returning to our heavenly home.
