Hi I'm Nicolle

I want to create something beautiful someday. In the meantime, I am serving a Mormon mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

About Me

I love music, black & white movies, reading, dancing, and eating pho. I started collecting vinyl records with my dad to jam out to and I think my collection is almost perfect. I am the fourth of five kids with the grooviest parents. All of my siblings and closest friends are really independent and, from my perspective, successful. They have careers, homes, and spouses. I sometimes feel like I don't measure up because I am still single and trying to hone in on my career and schooling. I've learned, though, that God does not measure us from these worldly standards. He loves me because I am me, I don't need to have my life figured out for God to love me. I just need to love God and know that both his timing and plan for me are better than what I could imagine.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is a certain power within these beliefs that I cannot deny. This power is accompanied by a feeling of inexcusable happiness and energy for life. When I took the time to study the Book of Mormon and pray about it, I discovered that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to this earth through Joseph Smith. I discovered the Book of Mormon is real and that it is written by prophets and that God preserved it for our day. I know that by placing the Book of Mormon and the Bible in an interdependent relationship I will know Christ better. I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins and troubles that I might be made perfect. I know that He loves me. Most of my friends are not Mormon and do not share my values. In fact, many look at me in a foolish way for my purity and my "extreme" convictions. Because the truthfulness of this religion, I know that none of that matters. I am a Mormon because I know it is the fullness of truth; without it I am not fulfilled. I am a Mormon because my integrity will not allow me to be otherwise.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving people and seeking to understand them. I am not perfect but I try every day to look beyond myself and serve those around me.
