Hi I'm Becky

I'm a first grade teacher. I make homemade ice cream. I hike, boogie board, and enjoy traveling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from BYU in Elementary Education and I have been teaching elementary school for the past five years. This year I'm teaching first grade and absolutely LOVE it! I have been married for five years to a wonderful guy, who also happens to be my best friend. Together we like to go hiking, boogie boarding, make homemade ice cream (using our own recipe), play board games, and travel around the world. I love to read and am constantly checking out new books at the library. I also love and am slightly obsessed with watching British movies! Spending time with my family is also very important to me. I talk to my parents weekly and enjoy Sunday dinners with my in-laws.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been involved with the Mormon church all my life, however I have not always known it to be true. When I was a sophomore in high school I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. When I came to the verse towards the end, encouraging readers to prayer to find out if the words written were true or not, I prayed to find out for myself whether it was a the word of God. I remember, even to this day, the feelings that I had during and after that prayer, and how they testified to me that the Book of Mormon was true. That it was and is the word of God. Since that time, I have had my ups and downs, but one thing has always remained the same, my belief in a loving Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that His church was restored to the earth and because of that restoration we have the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, just as it was during the time Christ lived on the earth. I love the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: The sanctity of marriage and family, knowing that there is a God who hears and answers prayers and most importantly, knowing of the atonement of Jesus Christ and how I can make mistakes, which I do, and be forgiven. This and so much more is why I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am not a perfect person. But, I try to treat others with respect and live a good life every day. I am an active member of my local ward and attend weekly Sunday meetings. I have worked with the youth, ranging in ages from 18 months to 9 years old. I also participate in meetings and activities involving women of all ages of our ward.
