Hi I'm Nathan

I am nineteen years old, am a missionary for the church in Iowa. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the middle child in my family. We love living in Arizona, though I admitt the summers are a bit hot. I love the drama program when I was in high school, as well the teachers. I am thespian (drama geek) and loving it. I have been in five plays so far and hope to be in more. I am an honors student (Though at times I certainly don't feel like it at times). I love my friends, lds or not. They are a big part of my life. I love the great outdoors, and hope one day to own a big ranch and live semi off the land. I like to read and, at times, write. I wish I had more pets growing up, but my parents disagreed with me. I love to teach and be a leader, but you wouldn't think that of me at just a glance, I am rather introverted.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not a convert to the church, but that does not diminish my belief or my testimony. I am a member of this church because, truly I believe it. Yes, a teenage boy can have strong religious beliefs. I have felt the spirit convey to me, and there has never been a period of my life in which I did not believe. Even when times are rough or when I am not doing what I am supposed to be doing. I believe that the Godhead and not the Trinity exits. There are three seperate beings who have three seperate roles. I believe that they both have a plan for each and every particle of you and that they love you independently and individually. I believe that Christ came to earth and atoned for our sins and his name was Jesus. I believe that God has a master plan for all of His children. We are to follow this plan in order to be with our Heavenly Father again. And when I mean again, I believe that we lived with Him before the World was. I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet and not our idol. I believe that he restored the Church to what it once was when Christ came to Earth. I also believe

How I live my faith

I live my faith at all times. I accepted the call to be a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which means a prophet of God called me to be one. I read the scriptures, or at least try to read the scriptures daily. And I try just to be a good Christian, which for me just means to live my life in a manner that if Christ or one of His apostles were standing next to me, I would feel comforatable. As a missionary I have the sacred obligation and priveldge to teach and preach all of God's children, I get the opprotunity to serve in the community and to help everyone, and I get to live my life for two years that my future children will be proud of. I love my faith

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

I think, the reason why the church is thriving so well is because it is a church with a mission. We do not believe in reaching a status-quo in spirituality, but in eternal progression. We believe that we are given a mandate by God to take the gospel to the world, to watch out for our brothers and sisters, and to literally prepare the earth for the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that this church is headed by God and that he is at the helm, that it was not created out of the kindness of some good people, but rather from the kindness of our Heavenly Father. We invite everyone everywhere to test our message, to find out if what we teach is true. The reason why we are growing so much is because the answer is constant: yes, the church is true. That is my testimony. Show more Show less
