Hi I'm Hilary.

I am a wife and mother. I love all things sarcastic and funny. I am a kid at heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up dancing. I always knew I would become a professional dancer, teacher, or open up my own dance studio and share my love of dance with others. Plans changed while I was a Dance Education major at Brigham Young University. A serious back injury helped me realize how much more to life there is besides dancing. I came home from BYU and married the love of my life. We have two little boys and they are my world. I am a stay at home mom, which is perfect because I get to watch the Disney Channel and eat Kraft Macaroni and Cheese many days :) I really am just a big kid at heart. I love playing with my boys... going to the park, jumping on the trampoline, playing in puddles, and most of all building forts! For now, my days revolve around diapers, naptime and the always dreaded tantrums. It isn't quite as glamorous as being on a Broadway stage or dancing backup in a music video, but this is my life and I love it! There truly is nothing more important to me than my family. I look forward to watching my children grow up and growing old with my husband. I am grateful for the life I have and try my hardest to love it no matter what the day brings. I truly believe that life is what you make it. I love to laugh and smile.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up "Mormon." My mother was a single mom raising three girls. I know it was extremely difficult for her, yet she still was able to take three little girls to church for three hours all by herself. Wow, she was a great example to me. I also have wonderful grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who are wonderful examples and faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For most of my life, my family was the main reason I went to church and believed in it. They are amazing people and I knew I wanted to be like them. When I had my first child, everything seemed to "click." Until then, I never truly understood our Heavenly Father's love for us and the importance of families. Now that I am a wife and mother, I cannot imagine living my life any other way. I am a mormon for myself, but also for my family. I love knowing why we are here and what is expected of us in this life. I am grateful to be able to teach my boys the gospel. I am mostly grateful to be sealed to family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the members of my church. I am in charge of putting together monthly activities for the women in my church. We do things like learn to garden, learn tips and tricks for keeping a beautiful home, make care packages for others, and eat yummy treats and visit together. I also visit with other sisters in my ward every month through a program called "Visiting Teaching." Through this program we not only make friends, but we are able to serve and meet the needs of the members of our ward family. At home we hold family prayer daily. We are not perfect, but we also try our best to read out of the scriptures everyday. We also have family night once a week. Nothing too organized, but it is a great way for us to spend time together and teach our children simple principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
