Hi I'm Harriett

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a grandmother of 6 with one being a step grandchild. I have 5 children and 2 step-children, 2 boys and 4 girls. All are grown and live from one end of the United State to the other, so it is a challenge to get to see all of them. I love to sing and I sing in the church choir and also sing in the local chorale group where we perform twice a year. I went back to school in 1996 and received my license to be a real estate agent and have sold real estate for 15 years. I am now semi retired and work in a real estate office as the bookkeeper. I love to read and have picked up knitting again after many years and have made baby blankets and sweaters. I taught my husband to knit and he has since picked up crochet and tatting. We love to do this together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised a Mormon and when I moved to SLC I did not know what a Mormon was, but soon learned about the people and the religion. At this time in my life I did not want anything to do with this religion until I meet my husband and we moved to a small town and started going to church there. I felt a great urge to learn more and asked to have the missionaries come and visit with me. I of course had lots of questions and the missionaries were able to answer everyone. I am a Mormon because I received a witness thru the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was translated by Joseph Smith the first prophet in this dispensation. I followed the missionaries invitation to pray and ask God if this were true and I know that it is the word of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored church on the earth today. Jesus is my Savior who died for my sins and I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

I can't imagine living without the gospel in my life, where I have the guidance of the Holy Ghost. It is such an uplifting experience to be a part of this church. I was the one that got to choose the hymns and the hymns that the choir would sing.and have just received a new assignment where I get to teach lessons to newly baptized members. This is something that keeps me reading and study the scriptures. My husband and I read our scriptures as our schedule allows us to be together and of course attending church each Sunday.
