Hi I'm Mary

I'm a 3rd grade National Board Certified Teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a National Board Certified 3rd grade teacher who enjoys music (singing), quilting, and my 2 lovely grandchildren. I enjoy working with interns and student who are learning to become teachers and mentoring other National Board teacher candidates in our school district. Our four children give us the greatest joy. All are married and 2 have started their families. Spending time with them is priceless to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me the core values to guide my life. It makes sense to me as a parent, a grandparent, and a daughter of Heavenly Father. I see it as the road map through this journey called life, a map that will lead me back to my Father. Feeling the Spirit makes it easier to make the decisions in my life and to help me through the rough parts of my journey. I've been surrounded by a safety net of others to assist me in this journey because of the Church.

How I live my faith

I serve currently with the young women, ages 12-18 in our area. I assist with others who organize special events for them to participate in such as a summer youth camp and service opportunities within our community. We are currently planning an activity that will require them to go back in time to see what it was like to be a pioneer pulling a handcart over a 3 day period of time. They, along with the young men, will taken back in time to experience what it was like to come west in this most unusual way as some of our ancestors did in the 1850's.
