Hi I'm Heidi

I was born in Germany. I'm a home-schoolee. I'm a world traveler. I'm an educator. I'm a stay-at-home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom, an educator, a wife, and i'm a mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born to Mormons, I always remember having a feeling that it was right. I was baptized at age 8, and even then I knew I was making the right choice. I didn't understand the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as I do now, but I am grateful for parents who started me on the right path.

How I live my faith

Right now I am moving and so I will begin attending church at a different building. I have been able to live my faith everyday as I study and lve by the teachings of Christ. As a mother, I try to teach my own children of Christ's love. I also strive to do as Christ taught and learn from my children (Jesus explained that the kingdom of heaven is made up of childlike people; or those who are humble, teachable, loving, trusting, not afraid of what others think, etc..).

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Heidi
As followers of Christ, we are to reach out and help all who need it. We should be service oriented. Sometimes it may seem that Mormons only help each other because we DO help each other and sometimes we may not recognze every need around us or we may not know how to help. Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Heidi
We welcome all to come unto Christ who are willing to live the commandments of God, regardless of race, color, background, or sexual orientation. God has taught through prophets and Holy Scripture that any deliberate sexual thought or act outside of marriage is a sin. "Whoso looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Mathew 5:28). God expects complete fidelity within a marriage. Modern day prophets have proclaimed that "marriage between a man and woman is ordained of God " (Family: Proclaimation to the World). According to God's laws all who are unmarried must refrain from sex. There are some that may view our pro-traditional marriage stance as being homophobic or hateful to those who have same gender attraction. This is absolutely not true. We love all men and women and want all people to share the joy we experience as we live the gospel of Christ. God has commanded that we "love one another, as [He] has loved us" (John 13:34). We seek to show love to all mankind, including our those who are attracted to their own gender. God loves variety and has a place in His church and in His kingdom for all who come unto Him, are baptized, and keep His commandments. Show more Show less
