Hi I'm John

I'm a Colorado native, I love Jeeping in the Rocky Mountains, I became a Mormon over 20 years ago.

About Me

I am have been married for over 27 years and I have 2 daughters and 1 son all of who are currently enrolled in college. My beautiful wife is currently working towards her Master's degree, and I have returned to college as well to obtain the Bachelor's degree that I never completed! I LOVE to go 4-wheeling in my Jeep Rubicon. I enjoy camping and backpacking in the Rocky Mountain wilderness. Fly fishing, not bait fishing! And, of course skiing in the winter time is an awesome activity! I have been a Mormon since I joined the Church in 1984.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I searched for the right church for some time before I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was not always a member. But, my best friend was and he was a great example to me. Also, my soon-to-be wife was also a Mormon. I choose to learn more about the church by discussing doctrine with the Missionaries. I studied and prayed, and one day, after witnessing the birth of my first child, I gained a testimony of Jesus Christ and the Mormon church. I was baptized soon after. Now I can not imagine living without the church in my life! Every week when I attend church and listen to the talks, my testimony grows ever more. The members in my church building are like family. We care about each other and we serve one another willingly. We strive together to live more like Christ through the examples he gave us. I know this church is true. I have been a member of another church, and attended many different denominations and have never felt the spirit like I have in the Mormon church. I have a firm testimony that we are guided and directed by a living prophet on the earth today. His name is Thomas S Monson. I can testify to you that Jesus Christ took upon Himself all the sins of the world that we may be saved. I can also testify to you that as we strive to live more like Jesus, we will be blessed for our efforts. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the only church blessed with the fullness of the gospel. I can testify of this with a surety.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I strive to act honorably...the way that Jesus would act. I stay involved in my community. I am the president of my home owners association. I volunteer in the community so that I can help others. I serve in my church in the Sunday School program. And, I am a home teacher. Being a home teacher is perhaps the most important calling that I could have. I visit families that are assigned to me every month. It is much more than an assignment though! I have grown to love my families and I truly care about them! I welcome the opportunity to visit them, teach them elements of the gospel, laugh with them, care for them, and serve them.
