Hi I'm Aaron

I am an Eagle scout, I play the trombone, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a College Student currently serving a volunteer mission and I have a passion for creating music, enjoying the outdoors, and learning new things. During High School I played the trombone in the Jazz band and I also sang baritone in the choir. I am an Eagle Scout that loves camping, hiking, fishing, exploring, climbing, and just plain relaxing. I enjoy attending school and the opportunity that it gives me to discover new things and obtain new skills.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life when I was really struggling with the concept of religion and with God. I had a deep desire to belive but it just seemed difficult for me to believe in something or someone without having firm, undeniable evidence. In science and math, if I want to know if my theory about something is correct, I am able to conduct experiements and tests in order to know. But it seemed not to be so with religion. As I was thus contemplating on the subject of religion and God, I determined that I needed to pray to God and excercise faith in him in order to recieve an answer. In Mathew 7:7 and James 1:5, we read that if we lack wisdom, we can ask of God through prayer and receive answers. And so, I did just that. I knelt in my room one night and poured out my soul to God. I fervently asked to know if the Mormon church was true. Words cannot describe accurately or completely the feeling that I then felt within me. It was almost as if someone were pouring a pitcher of 'Joy juice' into my soul and throughout my entire body. This feeling of peace and joy permeated my entire body and in an instant I felt as though I should rejoice! It was Incredible! All my former thoughts of doubt were swept for my mind because in that instant, I knew without a doubt that the Church was true, that God is real, and also that God speaks. I know that this is God's church here on the Earth today and because of this knowledge, I strive every day to follow him and do what God would have me do. This is why I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

My relationship with God is something that I hold very close and dear to my heart. It just means so very much to me to know that I have a Saviour, Jesus Christ, that suffered so that I can have the opportunity to repent and return to live with God again after this life. To demonstrate my love for God and his Gospel, I have tried my best over the years to do all that I can in the service of him, and of others. As a member of the church, I have had the wonderful chance over the past several years to go into the homes of fellow members once a month and share a gospel message with them and make sure that they are doing alright. I also had the opportunity for two years,to visit the homes of people and collect money for the hungry every month. Anyways, the point is... to me, religion without good works is not religion, but instead philosophy. And so, I try my very best every day to show my God that I believe in him and that I am willing to excercise my faith. (James 2:17)
