Hi I'm Renee

I'm a Mormon. I have a B.M. in vocal performance and love to sing. I love sharing my talent with others.

About Me

I am a single parent of 5 children, although they are all grown now. Life was really hard and stressful going through a divorce and caring for 5 children, but I am still smiling and love life. It was difficult for my children as well and at times it was so hard to deal with the decisions they made as they reacted to not having a father in the home any longer. I was the one who became their "sounding board" when life was particulary stressful for them. I went to college at 37 years old which took me 8 years to complete my Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. It was worth the time, effort and hard work to complete the degree I had always desired to have. I love to sew my own clothes and make clothes for my 5 grandchildren. I enjoy doing family research when I make the time to do it. Life takes it's turns, and last year I was diagnosed with ITP, an autoimmune blood disease which I am learning to live with and live my life as normally as possible. My attitude is that we all have something to "live with" so this is another challenge in my life as it is uncurable.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and have always had a tesitmony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I find happiness in serving others and knowing that we have a living prophet on the earth today. I know without any doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on this earth with the fullness of the gospel. I know that familes are forever, even though I am a single mother. I love my children and grateful that all 5 of them were sent to me. They are my "rocks" and keep me stable when things get rough. I love sharing how I feel about my Heavenly Father through song as I love the hymns and classical sacred music.

How I live my faith

I play the organ at church and participate in the single adult program. I love joining with other single members in activities where we can get to know one another. It is great knowing there are other people like me who share some of my same interests.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

The scriptures tell us that we need to give 10% of our income to the Lord. I have a tesitmony of paying tithing because when I pay 10% of my gross income to the Lord, I know that I have obeyed his commandment and that I will be taken care of financially. I may not be a millionaire, but I have all I need to pay my living expenses and when some emergency just happens to come up, it's always a miracle that the money is there to pay what needs to be paid.
