Hi I'm Rachel

I was born and raised in Utah Valley. I am working on becoming a nurse. I'm love Shakespeare, music, chemistry, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to school and working on a nursing degree. I love science, especially chemistry and I look forward to spending time in the lab each week. I am a Teaching Assistant for Anatomy, and I coach Shakespeare at my high school. I work as a nursing assistant at a nursing home where I get to spend my time helping people do things they can no longer do themselves. It is a physically and emotionally difficult job, but I have learned to love the people I serve. I love spending time with my family, especially playing games. One day I would like to be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and help premature babies get a chance at life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of strong members of the church, and excellent examples. From the very beginning I was taught by example the importance of taking the sacrament each week and attending church meetings. I watched my mom lead the music in primary and my dad lead our family as a priesthood holder. I was baptized and confirmed by my dad on my 8th birthday, and I still remember how clean and pure I felt, and my desire to stay that way. Only a few months later, on Christmas night, my dad passed away from a heart attack. Being so young, I am so glad I had strong examples of how to deal with the situation. It would have been easy for my mom to turn her back on the church and her Heavenly Father, being a mother with 5 young children and her husband untimely taken away. I am so grateful she remained strong, and helped me to build my testimony. I can clearly see what I have learned now from the trials my Heavenly Father has given me. They are what have made me who I am today. Although I miss my dad, I am thankful for the time I had with him on earth, I am aware of the influence he has had on me from beyond the veil, and I look forward for the day when I will be able to see him again! I love this gospel and it's healing, strengthening power. It brings me a real happiness that I know I could find nowhere else. I know it is true. I know I have a father in heaven who loves me so much, and a savior who gave his life for me so that I can return to live with my father in heaven again. He knows everything I have gone through, and I know I can turn to him when I need help, because he truly knows how to help me. I know that I will be able to be with the people I love for eternity through the blessings of the Temple, and that is the most amazing blessing I can imagine.

How I live my faith

I make going to church and taking the sacrament a priority every Sunday. I love going to listen and learn of the savior and his teachings, and see the members of my ward. I am excited to start my new calling of visiting the sisters in my ward. I look forward to getting to know them better and share this amazing gospel with them.
