Hi I'm Shauna

I was born and raised in Southern California. I'm a college graduate. I'm the mother of 5 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate. I am a mother of 5 wonderful kids. I do volunteer work with the local high school orchestra booster organization and love interacting with the students there. I love to knit, bicycle, read, and watch movies. Most of all, I love doing things with family - laughing, working and playing together.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know my Savior lives and loves me. I love studying the scriptures. The scriptures help me deal better with the challenges of daily life as well as deepen my testimony of God and Jesus Christ, their plan for us here on earth and the fact that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and our families after this life. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and testifies of the divinity of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith truly was a prophet of God and through him the fullness of the true gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth. We are led by a prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, who is called of God. I'm grateful for the power of prayer and knowing that a loving Heavenly Father is there listening and helping and comforting me when I need it. Most of all, the true gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace, comfort, and knowledge through the power of the Holy Ghost. The great thing is that anyone can find out these things for themselves by the power of the Holy Ghost through study and prayer.

How I live my faith

I'm an active member of the church. Currently, I teach the 3 and 4-year-old class on Sundays and love it! They are so eager to learn and are very loving. In the past I have done many different things in church such as leading the singing each Sunday with the children, teaching the adult Sunday School scripture class, teaching in the women's organization, being in charge of the music (including choir, Sunday meeting hymns and special musical numbers), and working with the youth. I also visit 2 ladies each month and bring a spiritual message as well as help them in whatever ways I can. I am trying to follow the Savior's example and be kind and respectful to everyone I meet. We are all children of God and are all important in his eyes, no matter what our background or faith.
