Hi I'm Elder Hallsted

I am a native Arizonan. Love me some paintball and some rocking music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently on a mission in the "best mission in the whole world" as I have been told by all! But besides sharing the gospel with my fellow Chileans, I have a couple fun hobbies. Paintball is one of the top ones, my friends and I have so much fun participating in that extreme sport. When I am in a lazy mood, I either resort to playstation or mosaics. I am pretty good at both, so, watch out you gamers and art fanatics.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member since I was eight. Born into this utterly AWESOME gospel and appreciate that I had the opportunity to grow up in it. I have seen what the difference is in the lives of other people. How much happier and excited about this life and also what comes next after we leave this place. Now I am able to share my feelings and knowledge with all my Chilean brothers and sisters which has only strengthend my testimony that this is the true restored church of Jesus Christ Himself! For all of you that are new to the church or do not know what, who, or why we do what we do, ask us! Even more importantly ask God, for who ever searches for answers and prays with a sincere heart will be able to know all the answers to any question.

How I live my faith

Like I said, right now I am on my mission. So right now I live it 110 percent, because as missionaries we get the right of living a little more obedient. Which at times seems crazy, like no TV, that is weird. But I am loving it, and seeing the benefits from living these extra commandments. So I share what we do, why we do it, and how everyone can be a part of it here in Chile. This is an awesome opportunity that I have and I am going to take advantage of it and help everyone that I can!

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Elder Hallsted
I like to use an example to answer this question, think of lemonade. What are the three key ingredients in a lemonade? Water, sugar, and lemons. Now, try to imagine (or if you want to go ahead and try it) making a lemonade with only two of these ingredients. How does it turn out? Sugary water, lemony water, or sugary lemons! It just doesnt work! Now relate this to baptism. Just like lemonade there are three key parts. Starting with sufficient water to be completely submerged, the desire and knowledge of the responsability of this step that you are about to take, and a worthy man that holds the Priesthood ( power given to man to act in the name of God rightly and only obtained in His one and only true church). Without the authority of the Priesthood, a baptism would end up being just like the lemonade with only two ingredients, not a real baptism. But thanks to a loving Father, He has given us once again the authority to perform baptisms that are acceptable before His eyes. Show more Show less
