Hi I'm Elder Weston Peterson

I love music, family, and friends, I am a full-time missionary serving people all around me, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated in May 2013 and just before that, in April I received my call to serve in the Brazil Santa Maria Mission for two years. I love the Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I am excited to be serving Him full-time. Before my mission I was really into marching band and loved being around my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion happened over a long period of time and is continually building on itself to this day. I was born in the church to a couple of very active church members. I grew up always thinking and believing all that I was taught, but I didn't really know of its truth until somewhat recently. It more or less started when I turned 12 and received the priesthood. After that day, I started to realize certain ideas and concepts and paid more attention in church and at church activities. Combined with those and my personal activities, I started to have moments of feeling the Spirit intensely, always confirming to me what I was hearing and helping me to change my ways to better follow God's commandments. These times would almost always fill my soul and I learned so much during those times. I still have them, and they are of great benefit to me. I know that these are the times when I am receiving revelation for myself. I have learned to always act on them. Through learning, I have become a better person. By learning one thing, I learn many other things. I know Jesus Christ to be my Savior. I have a personal relationship with Him that I cherish above all other things. I know Thomas S. Monson to be our prophet of God of today. I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible to be the word of God. I know the Church has the fullness of His Gospel. I have a love for all people of today and yesterday and tomorrow, for I know them to be my family. Most of all, I hope and strive to live with my Father in Heaven again, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

This is a tough question, but I believe that this can best be answered by me saying that I continually strive to emulate Christ's example. I do that which I am supposed to do almost as often as I can. I know for a fact I could become better, but my best effort is all I can give. I continually strive to make my best effort better. I live my faith by following its teachings. Most of all, I am living my faith by serving a mission and spreading the word.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Elder Weston Peterson
Yes, I do. His name is Thomas S. Monson and he is exactly like very other prophet you read about in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. He receives revelation for the whole church from God. He teaches us what God would have us do. He is the living prophet of God on the Earth today. Show more Show less
