Hi I'm Emma

I play the tuba. I love curly fries. I run cross country. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of two girl tuba players in my entire school, which makes tuba parties kinda boring seeing as all the guys want to do is play video games and eat :). I swim at a pool just down the street from our house, where I also work at the snack shack, every summer. I run cross country and track and I play soccer. I also do marching band in the fall and love going to the football games and just being crazy! I'm a total klutz and can hurt myself doing anything no matter how safe it's supposed to be :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church so it's really all I've ever known religion wise but I only ever went to church because that's just what our family does on Sundays or for the social aspect, the spiritual stuff was just a lucky bonus. But the summer after my freshman year I went to EFY and I realized that I wasn't living the gospel the way I should. I was following the commandments and doing what I was supposed to but I wasn't doing it all for the right reasons. So once I got home I decided to change all that. I started going to church because I wanted to learn more and because I believed in what was being taught. I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover by myself for the first time and prayed to know if it was true. I talked to my dad about getting my patriarchal blessing. Finally I prayed to know if the church was true and the Holy Ghost witnessed to me that it was. I know that we can repent and live with Heavenly Father again and I know that my Savior lives and loves me and I know that Joseph Smith really did translate the Book of Mormon and that it is true.

How I live my faith

I go to seminary before school every day and learn about the gospel. I don't swear or make inappropriate jokes or watch rated R movies. Every Wednesday night I go to the activity for Young Women's and I don't go to things like soccer games or camps or sleepovers on Sunday. People ask me all the time if I'm Mormon and I always tell them yes (usually this is followed by a whole bunch of questions...). I dress modestly for everything I go to and try to follow the prophet's teachings. At church I'm in the presidency for the class of girls ages 16-18 and get to plan the activities for them which is always A LOT of fun! Once a month on Saturday I get to go to a dance for the youth which is AWESOME!!!
