Hi I'm Annette

I am happily married for 24 years, with 3 children. I have my own business. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom and a wife first before anything else. I have my own accounting business, but my degree is in Primary Education from BYU. I love to teach! My favorite thing to do is hang out with my family. I love to read, work on family history, arrange flowers....I love flowers. I dabble in the garden and am trying to learn how to do Square Foot Gardening. I love to travel and would be going constantly if I could. Camping and hiking as a hobby are one of my favorite things, I love to be engulfed by the purest and most untouched of God's creations, I am at peace there. I like going on long walks in the cool of the morning. I am really fascinated by caves and water, I want to explore. I have served as a PTA president in the community I live in and enjoy volunteering for school and community events. I am involved politically in my area and believe in our local areas is where we can make the most difference. I have held a variety of jobs besides teaching 4th grade for 3 years, I drove school bus, delivered flowers, delivered phonebooks and newspapers, painted homes/business, cashiered. My mom and I also had our own floral business for a while, and my husband and I had our own landscaping business. I choose to pursue accounting simply because I could help support my family with a more flexible schedule and more pay than teaching. I love the color red and warm fuzzy blankets, even in the summer time!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of another faith. My parents divorced and my mom, my brother and I moved to live close to her family. During this time we were introduced to the Missionaries. They patiently came every week to teach our little family. My aunt was a member and she was always there to answer questions or direct us to search it out for ourselves. The more I learned 2 things seemed to touch my heart the most. I loved knowing that I had a Father in Heaven that loved me and wanted to see me succeed, not punish me, that is how I always thought He should be, not a being of fear and anger and wrath. The second was that I could be with my family forever. This meant a lot to me to know that my family could stay my family through eternity. These things along with the knowledge I gained of current day prophets and revelation propelled me to learn more and be baptized. I just knew that we could not just be left to figure it out on our own, He had to have given us more direction for our day. As I learned to pray, to really communicate, I feel Him with me constantly, and am lost when I am not doing all I can to have that feeling with me always. I know my Savior and my Father love me beyond measure, this serves as my purpose in life, to lead my family back home to my Father.

How I live my faith

My family and I make our faith part of our everyday lives. We attend church every Sunday and mid week activities for both youth and adults. In our home we start and end our day with prayer, it seems our home is so much more peaceful when this happens. As a family we read our scriptures together and discuss them daily. Once a week we have a special time set aside to learn as a family, we have a short lesson and a special activity together. As often as possible we spend time just being together as a family. Our family takes opportunities to serve as often as we can, I feel this not only strengthens our family, helps others, but sets the road for our children to follow with their families. In addition to these things we strive to do as a family I have my own personal prayers each day and study, just to keep me on track and invite Father to my life each day. I serve in the church working with the women of our church. My opportunity to serve involves getting to know the women in our area and looking out for their needs and teaching them. Mostly I just love them, that is what I am good at! We have great events through our church that just get us all together to relax and grow friendships. I have the opportunity to help organize and decide on what these are. We have a TrunkrTreat for Halloween, a Christmas Party, Ward Campout, and others. The youth get to attend camps that entwine the beauty and fun of outdoors with spritual expriences that help shape who they are. I have had the privelege of serving with our young women (ages12-18) attending camp with them, I think this was my favorite calling of all, they are such great examples to me and I love every one of them. My family is also involved in our community as well. My husband serves on our City Council and I have served as a PTA president. We all volunteer for cleanup, political campaigns and other opportunities as they are presented. We believe service makes everything better and Father closer!
