Hi I'm Allen

I'm a Mormon with a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and a zest for life.

About Me

I have a zest for life! I love my family and friends. I like family trips, camping, hiking, rock climbing, and all water sports. My profession is mechanical engineering and I work as a regional sales manager for a worldwide pump company. I love offering my services to my family, friends, and community.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I eventually had to obtain my own testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was 12 years old my parents devorced mainly because of my dad's personal problems. He was an alcoholic and mentally and physically abusive to members of my family. By the time I was fifteen years old I became sick and tired of my home life and strongly desired a way out. My mother often said that I must gain my own independant testimony of the gospel and of Jesus Christ through sincere scripture study and prayer. During this time of confusion and family strife I felt a need to pray to God and ask him why he would allow such terrible things to happen within my family. So, with the intent to ask God openly in prayer Iand express the deepest feelings of my heart, I hiked to the top of a hill close to my home. Finding myself alone, I began to tell God how I felt and express the deepest feelings of my heart. I began speaking about the many challanges of my life and how I was reading the Book of Mormon but felt that I was not receiving any answers to my prayers. With disappointment I told the Lord that I was thinking of giving up all hope. When suddenly, my tongue was stopped and I could not speak a word. I instantly felt his His unconditional and over powing love for me. I immediatetly knew that I was forgiven. At this very moment the Holy Spirit tesified to my very soul that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored again to the earth and that Book of Mormon was the word of God as translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Since this time, my testimony of the Savoir and His gosple has eternally changed my life. I love my Heavenly Father and will follow my Savior forever.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different calling in the church and community. The Scouting Program is one of my favorite areas to give service. One truth that I have learned through my years of giving service is that as you serve others you forget about your own problems and grow to love Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and God's children.
