Hi I'm James Watts

I'm a Mormon. I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, and I work in the mining business.

About Me

My wife and I have been married for 34 years and have lived in Arizona for over 30 of those years. We have three children and three grandchildren. I have worked in the copper mining industry in various capacities. I enjoy riding my bicycle, playing an occasional round of golf, and working with people.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Salt Lake City and have a family heritage that extends back to the early members of the church. My family was not active in the church while I was growing up, but I did attend meetings with my brother. When I graduated from college I left Salt Lake and moved to New Jersey. There I became involved in the church and found the spiritual strength that I had missed in my earlier years. I actually saw miricles take place in my life. My faith in the restored gospel grew. I know that Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ are real and that they know about me. Through study and prayer, I learned that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working with other people and helping them understand that God loves them. I have had the opportunity to work in many positions in the church, and have spent several years working with our young men and young women. The church has a program for members to visit other members, and I particularly enjoy the opportunities I have to visit with other families in our neighborhood and share some thoughts about the church. I try to be diligent in helping my family understand the teachings of our Savior from the scriptures and to be close in our relationships with one another.
