Hi I'm Wayne

I enjoy working with youth in Scouting and Girls Camp. I love to cook in the outdoors. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father who has enjoyed my children as they have grown up. I put away the things that I knew would prevent me from spending time with them, so I could enjoy them. Now our last one had graduated High School and I now am trying to fill the hole that they filled. I am grateful for pictures and video. I am grateful that I have a relationship with each one of our children and memories to talk about. I have a good wife who truly teaches me about what Love is. I enjoy Scouting and working with young men. I enjoy cooking, which has over the last few years has earned me the name "The Cook" at Girls Camp. I enjoy cooking in a Dutch Ovens. I look forward to getting in the outdoors and enjoying what God has created. I like to learn new and interesting things. I enjoy people and sharing with them ideas and learning about them. I believe that we are all here to help one another and no one should be alone. I love to serve my brothers and sisters whomever they are and whatever they are in need of.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS Faith and always had a desire to go to Church. I was baptized by my father when I was 8 years old. My home life had it challenges while I was growing up, but I always seemed to have a desire from with in to follow what I was taught. When it came time to go on a 2 year mission for the Church, I knew that I needed to go, despite the things that that were happening around me. While I was in the Missionary Training Center I had a witness that God does live and GOD knows who I am and that GOD loves me. That witness has not changed over the years it has only grown stronger as I serve. I have learned that as I listen to Our Heavenly Father that I can have the strength to do the things I am asked to do. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have asked the Lord through prayer and fasting to know if what I have been taught and read is true. I have had the Holy Ghost confirm to me that what I have been taught and read is true. I have had my beliefs tested and questioned. I have questioned myself and have knelt in prayer and asked the Lord if it be true. I not only ask about Church things I also ask about my family, work and am I going in the direction I need to be going? The Lord has blessed me in more ways than I can explain. I am a active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many callings and volunteer opportunities over the many years. When I came home from my serving a LDS Mission I was called to serve in the Scouting program. I have been serving with the youth for over 20+ years. I have served in many of the adult leader positions in the Church with the youth and in Scouting. I have set around a campfire many nights and slept on the ground many times. I have been part in organizing Encampments, Camporee's, Klondike's, Mountain Man, High Adventures and many other activities. I have taught how to use a Dutch Oven and have cooked some pretty good meals, included making Rocky Road Fudge. The word got out and the Young Women Camp Director asked me to cook at their Camp. I have now planned and cooked at Girls Camp for 7 years for about 160-200 girls. I cook with 3 other gentlemen who do a great job. We must be doing right, they keep asking us back. I have worked within some of the Boy Scout District level positions and was honored to receive the Silver Beaver Award this year. I am a Vigil Order of The Arrow member. I took a Ham Operator class last year and passed it and now I have a Ham Operator License. We have tried to practice the Scout Code "Be Prepared". The Church has asked us to be prepared for emergencies. Our friends tell us if there was an emergency, that they would come to our house. They know that we will take care of them. I enjoy going to Sunday meetings and seeing families and friends meet together. I enjoy taking one persons junk and turning into something useful or find a home for it where it will be used. One of the ways of I have raised my family is in doing service for others. It is very important to help others as the Savior has.
