Hi I'm Alex

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I work as a tour guide driving a barge on the beautiful Riverwalk and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of 2 little boys and twin girls. I work as a tour guide driving a barge on the beautiful Riverwalk and I've been a tour guide since February of 2000. I enjoy sharing with other people from all over the world the history of my beautiful city. I enjoy learning about history and the lessons that we can learn from them. I also enjoy sport activities like soccer, basketball, volleyball and football. I don't really have a hobby because If I am not working, then I am hanging out with my family or helping out and volunteering my time at church.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church and married in the Arizona Temple, so I was raised and taught in the principles of this restored gospel. As a youth I felt the desire to learn more about Jesus Christ and to try my best to obey the commandments of God. I had the opportunity to visit other churches, but I didn't feel the same peaceful feeling that I did at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so I decided to be a Mormon. When I turned 19 years old I was called to serve a 2 year mission in Mexico which gave me the opportunity to share my testimony and the gospel of Jesus Christ to other people. Three years after my mission service, I got married and was sealed in the Monterrey Mexico Temple to my beautiful wife. I continue to serve in the Mormon church because I feel that same desire to help others come unto Christ and feel the joy and peace that it has given me.

How I live my faith

Within my community I live my faith by doing my best to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. When I get the opportunity to share my beliefs with others who are not Mormons, I keep the gospel principles simple and share how it has blessed my life and the joy I have felt. I then encourage them to find out for themselves if what I believe is true by reading the scriptures and through prayer. I don't drink or smoke and I enjoy helping others by way of service. It makes me feel good inside and I hope to be a good example for my kids. At church, I am the 2nd Counselor to the Bishop and it comes with a lot of responsibilities and expectations. I strive to balance my duty at church and the responsibilities I have as a husband and father to my children. I am grateful that I am given the opportunity to share my testimony with others at church which helps them strengthens their own faith in Jesus Christ.
