Hi I'm Preston

I grew up in Arizona and I like to grow gardens. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of six children and have 4 grandchildren. I have a civil engineering degree and work for a utility company. I really enjoy growing gardens and working in the yard. I also like to travel and to see new things. I like to watch college football and to grill on my barbeque. My favorite things are going out on Friday night dates with my wife and spending time with my grandkids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. My family first joined the church in 1840 in Indiana so I'm a 5th generation Mormon. My ancestors were pioneers who crossed the pIains in covered wagons as they migratged to Utah and Arizona. I've always been very grateful that I was raised up in a great family that had the full gospel of Jesus Christ. My mom and dad were great examples to me. Growing up as a member of the Church meant that I was able to avoid many of the difficulties that so many teenagers suffer. It gave me a solid foundation to build my life on. I had the opportunity to serve as a missionary for the Church in France. As I prepared to go to France I really felt that I needed to strengthen my testimony of the Church and the gospel so that I could honestly communicate not just my beliefs, but my knowledge ot the truthfulness of the gospel and the Church. I studied the scriptures and prayed hard that I could know the truthfulness of these things. I received a personal assurance from my Heavenly Father that the true Church of Jesus Christ and the fullness of his gospel had been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith and that I could honestly share that testimony with the people of France. As I've raised my six children, I've been so grateful for this gospel foundation and for the many blessings that God has poured out upon us. Truly he has opened the windows of heaven for our family. I know that I hold the Priesthood of God and I've used that Priesthood power many times to bless my family and others. I know that there is a real Prophet of God on the earth today who leads and guides the Church. As we enter into increasingly troubled times on the earth, I am so grateful to have him to show us the way to safety, peace, and happiness. It truly helps to know that no matter what happens here to me or my family, God knows us and loves us. He is in charge and will make sure that all is well in the end. This I know with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings in the Church including being a Bishop of a congregation of about 450 members for 5 years. I very much enjoyed that experience and the opportunity to serve others in such a close personal way. I currently serve as a trainer for those who do financial audits of Church units and for those who deal with the financial matters of the Church here in our area. I'm also a teacher for a men's group in our ward and teach one lesson each month. I enjoy sharing my life's experience with them as we discuss Gospel topics. I've had the opportunity to work with the missionaries and to share the Gospel with other's as well. A year ago my best friend from work joined the Church. We've known each other for almost 30 years. That was a highlight in my life. I enjoy watching him receive the blessings of the Gospel and the positive changes that it brings to him and his family.
