Hi I'm Jean

I like to write poetry. I am a life-long learner. I play the piano and I like to have fun with my grandkids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I met my husband on the first day of my freshman year of college and we have been happily married for 33 years. I work at a junior high library. Needless to say I like to read. I also like to learn. After my four children were raised, I finished the degree I started 30 years before! I recently took up the flute again after a hiatus of several decades.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I attended a good Bible-believing church with my dad one week and the Mormon church with my mom the next. I am grateful for the strong basis in Bible knowledge that attending church with my dad gave me, but I recognized at an early age that there was a spirit of truth in the things I learned when I attended church with my mom. At the age of nine I asked my dad's permission to be baptized a member of the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I consider that choice the best I have ever made. The fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed me with purpose and direction in every aspect of my life.

How I live my faith

I serve one evening a week in the Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple. I also play the piano for church meetings, and work two evenings a month helping people with their family history research. In addition I serve as a visiting teacher, which means I have the opportunity to visit a few women in our Ward congregation every month. During this visit I check on how they are doing, help where it is needed and share a short gospel message.
