Hi I'm Norman

I'm a native Arizonan but spent most my life in Maryland or Germany. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently retired from the federal government but still work full-time as a contractor. My time outside of church is taken up with my family - 7 children and now 7 grandchildren. I'm looking forward to the time I really retire so I can spend more time with them and doing genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS faith - but had to gain my own testimony. As a Mormon missionary in Germany, I not only taught others about the Gospel, but strengthened my faith as I saw how it could change the lives of ordinary people. I love the Gospel of Christ because of the hope and strength it gives me. I know the Gospel is true by a personal witness from the Holy Ghost, who is always there to help me.

How I live my faith

In my 60+ years, I've participated in a lot of church activities - both as a youth and as an adult. I've had positions working with the youth, with missionary work, as a leader of various men's groups and currently as a member of the stake high council (a group of 12 men who help the stake president). I'm grateful for my callings as they've helped me to grow as an individual. I still feel inadequate as a public speaker - but give talks several times a year. While in Germany, I was also on the high council there - speaking in German to a local congregation once a month. What a growth experience that was! I'm currently organizing service projects for church members to help local community organizations.
