Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 39 yrs of age, married to the most beautiful woman on the planet and father of a young family. As a health & fitness enthusiast I love running, road cycling, good nutrition and outdoor adventure. As a business graduate I have enjoyed a significant portion of my career supporting the healthcare industry. Being a Mormon, living a physically healthy life is pretty simple. We don't drink alcohol, caffiene drinks, smoke or take drugs. It feels fantastic to not be addicted to any of these substances. Seeing my kids excel in their sports after taking on a really positive attitude in looking after their bodies is really great.

Why I am a Mormon

I consider myself to have had a really fortunate childhood. There was never any violence or substance abuse in our home. Both Mum and Dad were church members and really committed to giving me and my siblings the chance to be our very best. This involved so much more than sports and school achievements. They set a consistent example of love and unselfishness toward each other and encouraged us to become our best by following the example actions of Jesus Christ. First by appreciating ourselves, then by sharing our talents in helping, accepting and serving other people from all cultures and backgrounds. As I grew into my late teens this example dawned on me more deeply and helped me through my personal mistakes, motivating me to seek my own conversion, not just to know what was right, but have the power to do it. Then and now as I commit, pray and act i feel a strong spiritual power, many times, strengthening me to be a better man. I know this is the Holy Spirit. This power to do right is a wonderful and strong feeling and can help us all overcome any negative and destructive behaviour. My personal integrity and relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is my most valuable possession. I love the Book of Mormon. It is another testament of Jesus Christ written by prophets of Ancient America and companion to the Bible.

How I live my faith

Every day I count my many blessings and smile (not always easy!) We try to have daily Family Prayer and Scripture Reading We go to church on Sundays We have Family Home Evening every Monday night Both myself and my wife contribute a number of hours per week to various volunteer programs that strengthen families We turn out to Church Community Service Projects with our children like helping after the Brisbane Floods, School Working bees or landscaping Aged Care Homes We attend our temple to gain spiritual strength and perform important family history work
