Hi I'm Kory

I'm a outdoor enthusiast: hiker, biker, swimmer, runner, skier, and hoping to be a nursing student next year and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a empty nester of 4 (amazing!) children, and 2 stalwart son-in-laws, I have a "yummy" grandson who is 8 months old, and a husband who is truly my best friend. I live in the beautiful Northwest which I have come to love! I have learned to slalom water ski in the last 2 years and I'm hooked! I never tire of the "resort like" beauty of the Northwest, especially after hiking to a crystal blue glacier lake or biking around Lake Sammamish. I swim or bike or run every day but Sunday-this keeps my mind a "happy camper"! I love to cook international food and I'm a farmer market "junkie"-eating fresh all year would be a dream! I'm applying to Nursing School next year and I'm excited about the next phase of my life....maybe a little nervous too. My favorite quote is ,"It's a Wonderful Life!"

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have had a sure witness of the truthfulness of its teachings which has brought me pure happiness. These teachings have guided me in my relationships with my children, it has been the core to my fun and solid marriage. As I read and study the Book of Mormon daily, I find that I get divine help for my life. It lifts me and touches my heart and I find that I'm happier on the days that I earnestly read...kind of like my exercising...it makes me a "happy camper" in my soul! It's not just a good book, it's a true book of ancient prophets on the American continent and was written for our time. I know if I follow the teachings of the Book of Mormon that I can a live a life filled with joy! My kids will quote me using the term used in the Book of Mormon, "Pray Always"! I know through communicating with our Heavenly Father in prayer that I can have divine help, he knows me and loves me with a perfect love and cares about even the small things. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth, it's true, and it can change your life beyond your greatest hopes. This I know to be true! I encourage you to find out for yourself.

How I live my faith

I have served in our church in many capacities but I have to say my favorite is working with children and youth. It is so fullfilling to be apart of a child's/teenagers life; to listen to them, teach them that they are a child of God, that they are divine like Him, and that they can accomplish anything they want. It's powerful to watch them grow in the gospel and to see the gift of Holy Ghost guide them and direct them. They are full of life and are real! Right now I work with the Young Women ages 12-18 years of age. It is rewarding and keeps me young! Their lives are not easy but they push foward with a steadfastness in Christ. I have had the opportunity to see many of these young women grew up, go to college, have careers, get married, and become moms-following the teachings of Jesus Christ has blessed their lives and I've had the blessing of being apart of it...Great Stuff!
