Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in a small farming community with beautiful mountains all around. I love the Sunshine. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 2 kids and a wife to a really cute guy. He's smart too! I went to school for a long time . . . until I got my master's degree. And then I met my husband and he went through school until he had a master's degree. So we've been in school forever it seems. I have the best career in the world (besides being mom)---Cardiac Rehabilitation. I get to spend 6-12 weeks getting heart patients into better shape than they've ever been in their life. It's ever so rewarding. I love making chocolate chip cookies (that may be how I hooked my husband). I love the idea of moving to Hawaii and spending my days teaching the kids how to master the waves. I really really really love to run and bike and be active in every way. Wish I could get some time to do a triathlon. I've just taken up barefoot running and it is a good challenge for me. I love cooking beautiful, fresh, gourmet meals but I usually run out of time. I love the idea of "mastering" many skills---wakeboarding, skiiing, decorating, throwing parties, traveling anywhere confidently, and finding quality time with the people I love (who are many). I want to be the best me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me the opportunity to grow in my belief of the Savior every day. I get the opportunity and practice I need to serve and love those around me. It focuses my thoughts and behavior towards others. I am a mormon because I have seen the hand of God in my life and the many blessings that He has sent my way. I love the order and consistency the LDS church provides. The doctrine is clear and unchanging and when I read my scriptures, I feel the truth of them in my heart. I am a Mormon because this religion has brought greater peace into my life than any other source. I need peace in my life and I have learned that through the knowledge of our Savior and the great plan our Father in Heaven has in store for each of his children, that we can find true happiness in our life, and that is what I want.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures and praying with our young little family. I live my faith by serving the wonderful women around me. I am currently serving in a calling that allows me to help and love and teach approximately 150 women and their families living within a large congregation. This has been extremely time consuming, but I have grown in my faith and knowledge of the Savior. And I have seen the miraculous power of living the gospel in the lives of the many women I have come to know. These sisters have amazing stories and amazing trials and adversity. But they stayed strong in their belief in the Savior and in living the commandments of God, and they are making it! I am teaching my children the importance of looking outside of ourselves to those around us who need to be served and loved in many ways. I try to live my faith by being kind and helpful, positive and unselfish. I am not going to lie, life gets me down sometimes, but when I am true to my faith, I am happier and more patient and able to accomplish really good things.
