Hi I'm Patrick

I was born in Hong Kong and am now living in Brisbane, Australia. I am retired. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Hong Kong. After I had graduated from high school I served in the British Royal Navy for three years. Then I went to study at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, majored in business administration. I returned to Hong Kong and started my career as a human resources manager. Between 1997 and 2007, I worked in Shanghai, Tianjin and Beijing, China as a general manager for three factories, then worked as a human resources director for a multinational company. Between 1994 and 1997, my work required me to travel frequently throughout Asia Pacific and Europe. I had traveled and visited over 25 countries during these years. I enjoyed meeting people of different cultures and background. Most importantly, I assisted in identifying and developing staff with good potential to become managerial positions and specialists in their specific fields. After my retirement in 2008, I started building a model train at my garage, in which I could keep my mind and body working. Besides, I am a voluntary worker for the Mormon Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Mormon Church when I was 16. I joined this Church because of the good examples of its members. Its teaching of the value of family and emphasis on education had also impressed me. I therefore decided to ask my parents to permit me to join the Mormon Church.

How I live my faith

I always remember the teachings of our Church leaders to be self reliance. After my retirement, I and my wife have been working as volunteers for the Church to run the addiction recovery program to help needy people to recover from their addictions so that they could stand on their feet again even to be self reliance.
