Hi I'm Scott

I work in the public works department for a small city in Washington. I run a movies website. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was married in 2003 and my wife and I have three sons (we haven't figured out how to have a daughter yet). I work as a project manager for a small but growing city. As a hobby, I write a blog about movies and provide movie reviews (Corn Flicks Movies). I enjoy sports. I love to do things with my family. Our favorite vacation spot is Disneyland but we have a good time wherever we go. I volunteer by coaching my kids' sports teams and try to help out at other service projects. I enjoy old school Nintendo games. I also love Mariners baseball and Seahawks football!

Why I am a Mormon

My family members are all Mormon. I was born into the church, but that didn't mean there wasn't a time that I had to figure things out for myself. I think most of us are born into something, but we all need to take the steps to learn different truths on our own at some point. For me, I needed to know that these things were true. Through prayer, I was able to know that God has placed only one church on the earth and that He is particular about how we worship. By asking Him through prayer, I was able to find out through the Holy Ghost (I was able to feel that it felt good and right). Everyone can find out this way.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a counselor for our Bishop (meaning I work with the Bishop and assist him in reaching out to others). It's a fun position in that I get to see a lot of people grow and gain new experiences. I'm able to gain a lot of new experiences as well. Part of this duty involves helping plan activities (Christmas parties, potlucks, barbecues, etc.) and these events are always fun, especially if I get to help cook. If you're ever invited to one of these activities, be sure to go. They're always a great time.
